Calling everyone with an entrepreneurial spirit: Join us for an Instagram Live with Hint Inc. founder and CEO Kara Goldin, Arizona State!
If you can dream it, you can do it.
In fact, millions of women are owning their greatness. According to American Express, over the past two decades, the number of women-owned firms has increased by 114% and women-owned businesses generated $1.9 trillion in revenue for the U.S. economy in 2019.
One of those ambitious business owners is Kara Goldin. She not only entered the competitive beverage industry as a first-time entrepreneur but disrupted it with her unsweetened flavored water brand.
Before becoming an entrepreneur, Kara worked across various industries with companies such as Time, CNN and AOL. She credits her wealth of experience in the tech industry to her success as a business owner.
“Entrepreneurs crossing over into new industries bring a new way of thinking,” Kara says in her Undaunted newsletter on LinkedIn. “Entrepreneurs who are able to draw outside of the lines and break new ground … will eventually disrupt and change things — and hopefully for the better.”
After founding Hint, the Huffington Post listed Kara as one of six disruptors in business — alongside Steve Jobs and Mark Zuckerberg — while EY named her the 2017 Entrepreneur of the Year for Northern California.
In 2020, Kara added author to her resume. Passionate about sharing her story, she wrote “Undaunted: Overcoming Doubts and Doubters,” a Wall Street Journal bestselling book about the doubts, fears and challenges she faced as she built her own company.
We’re pleased to extend the conversation to entrepreneurship with Career Academy 2021.
We’ll kick things off with an Instagram Live featuring Kara! Kara will be interviewed by this year’s Career Academy host and fellow Kappa: Natasha Davison, Emory.
During the live event and throughout the month, members will glean advice from Kappa entrepreneurs and learn what it takes to transform your idea or passion into a business or product. Not an entrepreneur? No worries. Kara and other ambitious Kappas offer great advice no matter what career journey you’re on.
