Kappa Kappa Gamma Recognizes Alumnae Achievement Award Recipients

Dublin, Ohio (July 9, 2024) — Kappa Kappa Gamma is proud to recognize four trailblazing alumnae with the highest award bestowed upon members, honoring their accomplishments and service.

We congratulate the following 2024 Alumnae Achievement Award recipients:

Lt. Gen. Jody Daniels, Carnegie Mellon — Serves as the 34th Chief of the Army Reserve and 9th Commanding General, U.S. Army Reserve Command

Holly Pfeifer, Simpson —U.S. National Women’s Champion hot air balloon pilot, world competitor in the sport and owner of Cherry Bomb hot air balloon; pharmacist

Elisa Villanueva Beard, DePauw — CEO at Teach For America, where she helps TFA corps members reach hundreds of thousands of students in more than 1,500 schools across 36 states

Margie Moreno, UCLA — Senior vice president for current programming for Warner Brothers Entertainment; previously international creative lead for YouTube Originals

“On behalf of Kappa Kappa Gamma, I am proud to announce our 2024 Alumnae Achievement Award recipients,” said Mary Pat Rooney, Fraternity President. “Today, we recognize alumnae who exemplify the values and very best of Kappa Kappa Gamma. These individuals have not only excelled in their respective fields but also have continued to uphold the values that define our organization. Let this be a moment of reflection, celebration and inspiration as we acknowledge the incredible accomplishments within our alumna community.”

The 2024 recipients joined 250 other members as Alumnae Achievement Award recipients. For 78 years, Kappa has recognized members’ successes in dozens of industries from business and journalism to entertainment, engineering and medicine. Notable past recipients include Amber Venz Box, Gretchen Carlson, Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, Ashley Judd, Ginni Rometty, Kristin Armstrong Savola, Kate Spade and Nyakio Grieco.

Kappa presented the first Alumnae Achievement Award at its 1946 Convention to three members who excelled in the areas of television, academics, and government and literature. Kappa now bestows the Alumnae Achievement Award every two years as part of its biennial Convention proceedings. The recognition is the highest honor presented by the organization for professional and personal achievement on a national or international level.
