Leadership Academy isn’t your average conference. It’s not just about leadership skills; it’s about investing in yourself, discovering your unique style, building lifelong connections, and gaining tools to lead with confidence.

This is your chance to spend the weekend at camp, soaking up the scenic views, and devouring s’mores by the fire with sisters by your side. Plus, you’ll discover your leadership style and explore the key elements (yes, pun intended) that make leaders legendary: values, grit, relationship building, confidence, and adaptability.

COUNTING DOWN THE DAYS: MARK YOUR CAL

We’re headed to Camp Widjiwagan outside of Nashville, Tennessee, from Sept. 25–28. Plan on missing class or work for travel on Thursday. All the fun will start Friday morning and continue until Sunday at 12 p.m. CT. Attendees are required to stay for the entire duration of the event. Heads up: The weekend is going to be jam-packed with awesomeness, so it’s best not to count on time for catching up on school assignments or work.

KAPPAS AROUND THE CAMPFIRE

All members of Kappa are invited! Each chapter is expected to send one collegiate representative to Leadership Academy (Psst … You’ve all already paid the fees to send one chapter member and travel costs are covered by Kappa.)

There are 80 slots reserved for alumnae, which are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Once the slots are filled, there will be a waitlist.

COST OF LEADERSHIP ACADEMY

Good news: There’s no registration fee for collegiate members! Kappa chapters pay a $350 participant fee as part of the annual budget.

The cost for an alumna to attend is $50.

The Fraternity reimburses mileage for members driving and covers up to $700 in flight costs for those flying. Only if travel expenses are greater than $700 would a participant or chapter be asked to pay. Participants may cancel before July 14 with no penalties or fees. If cancellations are made after July 14, the chapter or member will be responsible for covering the costs and fees associated with the cancellation.

To sum it up, you get to spend an unforgettable weekend away at camp with your sisters and almost all costs are completely covered by Kappa!

RETREAT IN NATURE

The 20^th Leadership Academy is at Camp Widjiwagan, outside of Nashville, Tennessee. This camp is nestled on 320 acres next to the J Percy Priest Lake. Talk about views. You can expect cabin-style lodging, outdoor activities (think: zip lining, exploring the campgrounds, and more), indoor brainstorming sessions, and nights spent under the stars and by the fire.

That’s right! This year, we’re celebrating the program’s 20^th anniversary! We’re going to celebrate in true Kappa rah rah style — big, bold, and of course, in blue and blue — including special programming and surprises to make it an unforgettable weekend. You’ll definitely want to join the party.
